Taking place in the world of Future Me, my award-winning upcoming upper middle grade sci-fi adventure series, these stories feature the VRoom — a dedicated virtual reality space the main characters’ school uses to help the students virtually live their lessons.

“The Magic VR Bus” is like an updated Fantastic Voyage, where the kids travel through the human body to solve a medical problem for their health class. A quick tale full of action, adventure, and problem-solving.

Then, in “A Walk in Your Digital Shoes,” a new program allows students to jump into amalgamations of others’ memories (a VR version of Quantum Leap) to build empathy and understanding. But when a student hacks in, things go sideways. What does it really mean to see the world through another’s eyes? What if your memory was used without your permission?

“No Drone an Island” highlights engineering and programming as kids compete in a crazy drone racing obstacle course across an entire virtual city.

“The Geometry of Winning” gives new meaning to math races as kids solve equations and virtually build geometric structures to be the first to reach the top of an inverted fractal pyramid.

And finally, “A VRoom Carol” has students entering a VR version of “A Christmas Carol” as side characters with the job of keeping the story on track… and not doing such a great job.
